Tekken x Street Fighter Breakdown!

Episode 2: What Should Gameplay be Like?

Still not much to really breakdown, but there is still much to discuss about the upcoming game. And as you guessed from the title, we will discuss gameplay but there is MORE to it then just the gameplay. We're going to discuss what kinds of things we want exploited, and I'll explain what I mean by that in a little bit. But anyway, onto the first topic. For the most part, Namco has got the gameplay planned out. It's going to be a 3D style fighting game, but, as is the case for most other things regarding this project, no gameplay footage has been released as of yet. So it kind of makes me wonder what they're planning out exactly. Will it be like in Street Fighter x Tekken where they have a Tekken Tag like gameplay where one fighter gets K.O'd and that's it, or will it be kind of like the vs Capcom series where you have to K.O all the people, or will it just be a one on one kind of deal? The whole thing is a mystery right now. One thing is for sure though, it's gonna be hard to top the gameplay Capcom brought to the table. For me, at least. I guess if they went with gameplay that's COMPLETELY Tekken based, a lot of people who were complaining about Street Fighter x Tekken's gameplay not being like Street Fighter IV would be happy.

And on the other subject, what the game should focus around. Like, in Street Fighter x Tekken, they focused around Pandora and the Pandora mode system. But what are they going to focus on in THIS game? I mean, from the looks of the promotional image, it looks as if they're gonna focus around the Devil Gene and the Satsui no Hadou and the clash between the two evil powers, and I REALLY hope that is the case because I always found that kind of stuff interesting. I mean, not that I disliked the Pandora system, but I just kind of felt disappointed that Jin and Ryu's dark struggles weren't looked at. But oh well, the Pandora system was pretty cool. Especially how people looked in Pandora mode. That evil purplish look. I'm tempted to try that with my OC's. But I digress.

And now we come to the question I ask you, the reader. Well, questions.

1: What are YOU hoping the gameplay will be like? What system mechanics do you want to see? Any hyper-combos, a return of the gem system or Pandora, etc.

2: What do YOU want the game to focus on? And I'm not just talking about main plot here, I mean what areas would YOU like to see explored? like would you want to see a Devil Gene vs Satsui no Hadou, or a rivalry like Juri vs Hwoarang, or AGAIN the return of the Pandora system?

Please let me know in the comments below, because this type of stuff is interesting to me and I really wanna know what others think. But until next time, thank you very much for reading. This has been Syd, and I'll catch you later!

1) Hopeful gameplay won't be completely tekken based, cause even in SFXTK it had a good balance with tekken combos and street fighter special and super mechanics. So hopefully there will be some similar variation of that balance prevalent in the next game. As far as the gem-system goes I don't mind it as long as they are not "assist type gems" cause that just takes the challenge and fun out of it. The others on the other hand it depends, casual play without gems/ with just because it makes for a more interesting match.

Something I do want to know if they will use the same roster as SFXTK, cause alot of characters on both sides didn't make it so will they in this new game swap characters out to make room for said characters that missed out?

2)The whole Pandora plot is a nice plot to get the characters together, but to suddenly change it, would be a tad bit odd in my view, so an extension on it as to what happens afterwards and who gets it maybe would be interesting. But the whole devil gene and satsu no hadou it would be filler in my opinion, bad ass in game, but filler. Though I would like the character "Ingrid" to be explored due to the fact she somehow ties into pandora somehow in the game comic, but isn't really explained.

Interesting thoughts in the Pandora part. That is actually something I haven't considered. ^^;

By the way, I've been meaning to ask since the first episode: Who's Ingrid?

We all can't think of everything we're only human.

Ingrid is a character made by Capcom, first premiered in "Capcom Fighting evolution" for the PS2. And her bio basically she is a mysterious entity that is the "messager from the stars" and "the true master of M.Bison." No one not even rose knows what her goals are but her mission seems to be to reclaim the mastery of the psycho power from bison.

She uses telekinesis, energy blasts and magical sigils in her fighting style. In short she is a scary powerful, cheery girl.
